This project successfully protected 11 high valued residential properties on the Red River within the City of Winnipeg over a two year implementation period and a 5 year monitoring program. The project involved geotechnical investigation, design and construction supervision of an outside bend of the Red river that was highly eroded and unstable. ENG-TECH was responsible for environmental and City of Winnipeg approvals, geotechnical design, design contract administration and supervision. A project steering committee lead by ENG-TECH was responsible for consulting with stakeholders regarding enhancing access, recreational and aesthetic features of the Red River, obtaining landowner consent and funding commitment. ENG-TECH brought this project on time and on budget. The monitoring program confirmed the project durability and bank stability promising to provide erosion protection for the property owners for the future.
