ENG-TECH Consulting Limited (ENG-TECH) completed the requested geotechnical investigation on the two (2) designated sections of Thompson Drive in Thompson, Manitoba. One (1) designated section of Thompson Drive was located between Quartz Street and Mystery Lake Road as shown in Figure 1, while the other designated section of Thompson Drive was between Westwood Drive (most northern intersection with Thompson Drive) and Riverside Drive as shown in Figure 2. These two (2) designated sections of Thompson Drive are currently asphalt paved with grass medians between the east and west bound lanes, and both designated sections of Thompson Drive will remain asphalt paved. A partial reconstruction of both designated sections of Thompson Drive would be preferred, which would re-use the existing roadway materials from both designated sections. The purpose of this investigation was to assess the soil conditions and existing roadway aggregates at selected points within the two (2) designated sections of Thompson Drive in order to provide design recommendations for asphalt pavement for each roadway segment.
